Editor's notice: it be tested, we're commonly brilliant

The pandemic certainly hasn't made the job of inserting out a newspaper any more straightforward, however I'm immensely happy with the work the crew right here at Tucson Weekly has finished over the ultimate 18 months. putting out this paper is a group effort and i consider blessed past measure to work with the americans who bring you this rag per week.

Over the weekend, The Weekly brought home nine awards in the Arizona Newspaper affiliation's enhanced Newspapers Contest, including three first-vicinity awards. The Weekly competes towards the greatest non-daily papers within the state.

We won desirable honors in the classes of widespread excellence, reporting and newswriting excellence, and page design excellence. We gained 2nd region for departmental news and copywriting excellence, editorial page excellence, ultimate use of images, group/carrier/journalistic achievement and newspaper site. 

finally, congratulations to Tucson Salvage columnist Brian Smith, who won third location in the premier feature category for "Pandemic Day at Circle okay" (April 2, 2020), which profiled the forged of characters outside a midtown Circle ok in the early days of the COVID outbreak.

So what's in our award-winning paper this week? We've bought an excerpt from a new publication from our pals at UA Press, Discovering Mars: A heritage of observation and Exploration of the crimson Planet. Authors William Sheehan and Jim Bell revisit the Phoenix Mars Lander, a NASA mission led through the college of Arizona.
