Bartram trail high college reprints 25 yearbooks after image-modifying controversy

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Of the hundreds of yearbooks printed with edited photos of female college students, handiest 25 had been requested to be reprinted, in line with St. Johns County school District spokesperson Christina Langston.

Of people that requested reprinted models from printing contractor Herff Jones, handiest 12 again their long-established yearbook, which contained at least 80 photographs of feminine students edited to make them seem more modest.

The reprints come because the district is being investigated by means of the U.S. department of training's office for Civil Rights.

Working off a complaint filed in late March, the OCR launched the probe Monday into even if the SJCSD breached Title IX in the course of the district's dress code policy and how it turned into enforced.

"It has traditionally been hard to challenge dress codes because the courts have said that it's ok to have sex-differentiated dress codes and lengthy as you're now not burdening one neighborhood of students over the different," defined Naomi Shatz, an attorney and Title IX professional.

The district also formed a distinct committee to evaluate and suggest how the costume code should still be modified and up to date. That committee has yet to reschedule its first meeting, which was postposed.
