SZA has spoken out about how she decided to show down a photoshoot after the magazine wouldnât employ a Black photographer.
Taking to Twitter, the damaged Clocks singer printed, âI requested a black photographer for a cover n the mag informed me no lol its 2021.. and very nearly Juneteenth. Respectfully i canât do it.â
When requested whether she would identify the magazine in question, 31-12 months-ancient SZA declined, explaining, âDas not my vibe however thereâs TOO many elite black creatives rn to not permit it.â
In a separate tweet, SZA praised three other publications â" Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan and Wonderland â" for using Black photographers for fresh cover shoots, emphasising, âgotta celebrate when itâs right too !â
SZAâs long-established tweet has been appreciated more than ninety seven,000 times at the time of writing, with many of her followers praising her for taking a stand.
The respectable Twitter account for Black ladies Photographers tweeted, âItâs 2021!â, urging SZA to âHit them with our directoryâ.
