SZA claims magazine editors refused to appoint Black photographer for photoshoot

SZA has claimed she lately became down a cover photoshoot after editors at the journal refused to rent a Black photographer.

The celebrity, precise identify Solána Rowe, took to Twitter earlier this week to make the allegation.

"I requested a black photographer for a canopy n the mag advised me no lol (snort out loud) its 2021 (sic)... and almost Juneteenth," she wrote, regarding the break on 19 June that celebrates the emancipation of people who had been enslaved in the u.s.. "Respectfully I can not do it."

SZA didn't reveal the name of the book. And when fans begged her for greater details, she insisted it wasn't the right time.

"Das (it's) no longer my vibe however there is TOO many elite black creatives rn (right now) to not allow it," the 30-yr-historic declared.

furthermore, SZA made some extent of praising editors at different publications - Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, and Wonderland - which have promoted variety currently.

"S/o (shout out) @RollingStone, @Cosmopolitan and @wonderlandmag btw (incidentally) for all using black photogs in our recent covers. gotta have a good time when or not it's correct too!" she pointed out.

in the meantime, SZA also emphasised how critical it is for her to work with Black creatives in a series of messages written on a submit concerning the subject on The color Room's Instagram account.

"or not it's no longer deep I jus just like the method my ppl (individuals) SEE me (sic)," the good Days hitmaker continued. "i really like how we amplify us via our personal unique gaze. Its artful and magical. Jus no longer into fitting 'the white gaze' rn. Love and appreciate (sic)."
